Ligth metering is there to choose the middle color of light and determine the light and darks from there. In the frist photo the middle gray is Velica's face which makes the computer screen extremly bright and her able to be seen. In the second photo the computer screen is the middle gray. This causes her not to be visable. and all the colors that are darker than the screen to not be visable.
